About Tahiti

French Polynesia, often called 'TAHITI' is situated in the South Pacific and is composed of 5 archipelagoes, the most famous of which are the 'Iles De La Société' (Society Islands) and the 'Iles Marquises' (Marquisas Islands). As vast as Europe, these island chains are composed of volcanic islands and coral atolls.

This destination offers a unique blend of authenticity and exotic flavours with its breathtaking landscapes, crystal-clear blue lagoons, diverse tropical wildlife and the legendary hospitality of the Tahitians.

Far-removed from the fast-paced modern world, enjoy one of the last paradises on Earth, observe the exceptional marine wildlife, appreciate the mild climate and taste the savoury Polynesian cuisine.

ROA YACHTING offers cruises from the Island of BORA BORA, a pearl of the Pacific, renowned for its lagoon, one of the most beautiful of the world. The island is a 45-minute flight away from PAPEETE, the Polynesian Capital, and host of the International Airport.

'Maeva' to BORA BORA, welcome aboard the ROA !

Practical information :

Air travel :

Numerous international airlines serve French Polynesia via LOS ANGELES (USA) for North America or via SYDNEY (Australia) and AUCKLAND for South-East Asia, or TOKYO for Asia.

A domestic airline offers numerous and frequent flights between the islands, with several daily flights to the Island of BORA BORA.

Entry formalities :

A passport is mandatory (a biometric passport is required if you travel through the USA). A visa is not required for visitors from many countries of the European Union, North America or South America, but we advise that you verify this information before departure.

Payment / Currency :

The currency in French Polynesia is the CFP Franc, abbreviated XPF or FCFP. The exchange rate with the Euro is fixed: 1 Euro = 119.33 Francs CFP. You can also pay for your purchases with an international credit card.

Health :

No vaccinations are necessary. The health services and equipment are of high quality. There is a first-aid kit aboard the yacht and the different communication systems allow easy contact with a doctor if necessary. Navigating close to the islands allows a rapid transfer to a hospital in case of extreme emergency. It is recommended that you bring UV protection creams.

Electricity :

On land : 220 volts, 60 Hz
Aboard the yacht : 220 volts, 50 Hz (same as Europe).
